I don't share this to toot my own horn. I share this because it is stories like this that keep me going. I established this site for one reason: to help people. However, I sometimes get discouraged when page views are low or people do not comment on content that is posted. I question if this site is helping anyone. A similar thing happens when we get depressed. We think we are alone and nobody cares we are there. We feel like our existence is not making any difference. It is thoughts like these that lead people to self harm and suicide.
But the reality is that there is always someone out there who's life you are affecting. This site has been having a positive impact on someone's life almost 800 miles away. I had no idea. If you feel like you are an island, sorry to break it to you, but you are wrong. I promise that if you put in a little effort, you will see that you are part of an extensive network of interwoven human relations. And for what it is worth, I care.
So, to the guy in Seattle, I want to say thank you. You have helped inspire me and I am sure you have helped many people around you as well. Keep fighting.
